Christmas Eve Eve

I am baking some today and getting a few things ready for tomorrow night and a small head start on Christmas Day. My carrot cake is in the oven even as we "speak" and then I am going to bake some cookies, make my cheese ball (they are better after they sit for a while anyway), and hopefully chop my celery and onions for my dressing later, too. I just keep thinking of things to do ahead, but I also have to wrap presents yet and then figure out a place to put them until after we do gifts with the Powell family on Christmas Eve. Having our gifts under there with everyone's gifts that they bring in would be even more chaos!!!

It really is fun seeing all of the little kids together, but boy are there a lot of them now!!! They really do enjoy the singing, too and are so cute to watch.

Speaking of carrot cake in the oven, I had better get busy and get ready to make icing.

Merry Christmas!!!

Post Christmas Day

Ronnie has to have surgery the day after Christmas. He tore his rotater cuff in 3 (not 1, but 3) places and he will not be using his right arm or shoulder for two weeks following surgery. Then he begins a minimum of 8 weeks of physical therapy and then he will go from there. The doctor has already told him that it would never be 100% again and he would never be able to lift anything above his head, but hopefully, he will make a complete recovery. At his age, he probably shouldn't be lifting anything anyway.

I am working tomorrow and then on Friday, I have a class in the morning. Abbey will be joining me there because Eli has a doctor's appointment. She is just going to come home with me and spend the day and then we are going out with Pam and family on Friday night then coming here for our gift exchange. I am sure the girls will have fun.

Free Day!!! :)

I can't believe it, but I have a day where I don't have to be anywhere at any certain time. No H&R Block, no Christmas decorations to finish...just some chilling and maybe a little bit of shopping. I would like to get my stuff together today for the cookie party on Saturday, so that means I need to decide what kind of cookies to make first!!!

Ronnie's shoulder is still hurting a lot, but he did sleep a little better last night. He started a new pain medication today and it seemed to have helped some. He is gone now for an MRI and will meet with the surgeon again on Thursday and then decide when they can do the operation. His choices as of now are December 19 or 26. He had thought the sooner the better, but now he is not sure how out of commission he will be or for how long. If he has it done on the 19, he is afraid it will really mess up Christmas for him. He has to decide though...I am not making that call!!

Long time, no see

I can't believe it has been so long since I blogged...time sure does fly. It is true that the older you get, the faster time passes. I can't believe that it is already December!! I know that I will just get turned around and Christmas will be here. On the upside of that, we are going on a cruise just two months after Christmas!!! Whoo Hoo!!!

Since the last time I posted, we have a new addition to the family. Eli Jacob Lee was born on May 19 and he is the sweetest boy I know!! He is already 6 months old now and smiles every time you look at him. That is him on my profile picture the day he was born.

My grand baby girls are growing like weeds, too!! Abbey will be FIVE in February and Katie will be THREE in March. Abbey talked EARLY and a lot, but Katie has just now come into her own. She has always communicated, but now she is able to tell stories using more than just a couple of words and gestures. When she did start, she started in sentences. I think that with her gene pool, she will probably never be quiet again!!

I am going to go and work on decorating the family room and I hope to get that finished tomorrow. What isn't done tomorrow isn't going to get done. I am calling it quits. Now, it is just time to enjoy the time before the Holidays and get a few fun things done. Enough with the work part of it already!!
